Mastertronic had a brief foray into two mainstream forms of entertainment, videos and music. This ad, in Computer & Video Games July 1987, gives a flavour of the way that Mastersound was marketed. Heat of Soul did fairly well thanks to the inclusion of Stand by Me which by sheer coincidence was a singles hit that year. The whole range had been cobbled together by Geoff Heath doing a deal for bits of back catalogue from various record companies. Mastersound faded quickly from view soon after. And would you wish to buy a tape entitled Heat of Folk? No, nor would I.
As for the very rare Heat of Reggie – if you have a copy, treasure it, it will be worth a lot of money!
